When it was revealed that Roman Reigns had pulled out of WrestleMania, WWE made no mention of why and replaced him with Braun Strowman (who ended up challenging Goldberg for the Universal Championship) with no explanation whatsoever. Since then, there's been no mention of The Big Dog.
Well, it turns out that there's a good reason for that because Dave Meltzer has revealed in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Vince McMahon has instructed everyone on the weekly shows not to mention Reigns.
When Reigns pulled out of WrestleMania, Triple H indicated that his absence from the Show of Shows would be addressed in a unique way on SmackDown; instead, Strowman was announced as facing Goldberg and that was the end of that. Needless to say, fans roasted WWE for that, and it seems the order not to address the change came directly from the WWE Chairman.
While it was initially suspected that Reigns had pulled out of the Show of Shows due to him having a compromised immune system, he revealed this week that his wife is pregnant with twins, so that's understandably why he chose not to risk his - or his wife/unborn children's - health by wrestling.
Chances are we won't see Reigns back in WWE for the foreseeable future.
