Last week's SmackDown rebounded in terms of ratings but the previous Friday's episode was a disaster for WWE as it received only 888,000 viewers on Fox Sports 1. While it was expected that the show would suffer from both the move and the World Series, everyone was shocked by those record-low numbers.
Well, according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon didn't share any sort of reaction to the low ratings. In fact, he completely no-sold it and nobody around him brought the numbers up either as they clearly realised it was a sensitive subject.
It's no secret that Vince never sells negative news about the company and he must have been very happy seeing how SmackDown did even with a depleted roster thanks to most of the blue brand's Superstars being stuck in Saudi Arabia. With tomorrow's show set to be a pre-taped episode from Manchester, England, WWE will have to pull out all the stops to get fans to tune in.
