There have been many stories over the years about Vince McMahon using his wealth to help wrestlers who have worked for him and one of the most famous is that he helped Ric Flair get out of debt in the 2000s. McMahon doesn't like people talking about that, of course, but former wrestler Trevor Murdoch now claims that Vince played a key role in Harley Race's final days.
In a post on his Facebook page, Murdock notes that Race needed a Med flight shortly before he passed away but his Medicare wouldn't help him. That was when Vince then stepped in.
"I just wanted to put this out there," he says. "Harley needed to be transferred from Atlanta to St.Louis. He needed to take a Med flight because he was in rough shape. Medicare wouldn’t help him. A call was made to WWE and 10 mins later it was paid in full. Vince McMahon never blinked an eye. He wanted to make sure Harley was taken care of."
Murdock concluded his post by saying, "Thank you Vince, you gave me 2 more days with Harley." So, yeah, he's not all bad!
