Before SmackDown Live went on the air this Tuesday, Vince McMahon once again made a huge number of changes to the show. According to Dave Meltzer, the WWE Chairman and CEO tore up the sript just hours before it went on the air and he decided to rewrite the entire thing.
The original plan was for WWE Champion Kofi Kingston to headline the show against Daniel Bryan but McMahon changed it to a tag team match featuring Bryan and Rowan vs. The New Day.
As noted, the original plan was for Roman Reigns to wrestle Bryan at SummerSlam and it now appears as if Rowan will be the one who takes the blame. However, multiple outlets are reporting that the former leader of the Yes Movement will be revealed as being the one to have instructed his henchman to try and take out The Big Dog.
Time will tell on that front and there's still no word on what the plan is for Bryan's "career-altering" announcement.
