A number of segments were announced for Tuesday's episode of
SmackDown Live that didn't end up happening. WWE promised that Shawn Michaels would be on commentary (he instead appeared on Miz TV) and Daniel Bryan's "career altering" announcement was teased yet again...but never took place.
Now, Dave Meltzer has revealed that the reason those changes took place is because Vince McMahon was unhappy with the show and rewrote it just hours before it went on the air.
"This show is completely different than the show that was written because Vince McMahon showed up at 4 o’clock and decided that he didn’t like the show and Vince redid the show at 4 o’clock so everything changed," he explains. "That’s why all the stuff that was advertised like the [Daniel Bryan] speech and Shawn Michaels announcing and all that stuff that they talked about all week that didn’t happen, it’s because Vince changed his mind."
This doesn't really line up with what Vince said yesterday about how the hiring of Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff would lead to him taking a less hands on approach with creative and just goes to show that he will remain the man in charge of what we see in TV each week.
