Vince McMahon Was Reportedly "Furious" With Shinsuke Nakamura After That Nasty SMACKDOWN LIVE Cena Botch

Nakamura may not have gotten any heat from the locker-room following that scary-looking botch during his match with John Cena last week on Smackdown, but it sounds like he did not escape the ire of Vinnie Mac.

We recently reported that Shinsuke Nakamura was not held accountable for inadvertently dropping John Cena on his head during their match on Smackdown Live last Tuesday and that everyone backstage viewed what happened as an unfortunate fluke, but that doesn't mean Vince McMahon wasn't angry about it.

According to SI.com, Vinnie Mac was actually "furious" about the botch, and although it doesn't seem likely that he'll punish Nak for the mistake, if the Japanese Superstar messes up again it could be a different story.

"Despite McMahon’s anger, which was more in defense of Cena than it was an indictment of Nakamura, he has not lost faith in the Japanese star. However, if Nakamura makes another mistake on a grand stage, Sports Illustrated learned through channels close to WWE, then McMahon will have an entirely different opinion of Nakamura.”

This doesn't really seem fair as Cena was every bit as responsible for the botch as Shinsuke, but what can you do - he's Vince McMahon, dammit!

Let's hope Nakamura doesn't kick Jinder Mahal's jaw off his face at SummerSlam.
