Whatever The Truth May Be, WWE Appears To Be Spinning The Booker T/Corey Graves Situation As A Work
Booker T recently raised a lot of eyebrows when he, for all intents and purposes, threatened RAW announcer Corey Graves, but it looks like it may have been a work... at least, according to WWE sources...
Booker T was recently replaced by the returning Jonathan Coachman on the Monday night RAW announce team, and the five time WCW champion maintains that Corey Graves is the reason why. On the most recent episode of his podcast, Booker went so far as to promise to give Graves a beat-down if he saw him on the street.
Nobody seemed to be sure if this was a work or a shoot, but Sports Illustrated has reached out to "sources close to WWE" to try to get some additional info, and it certainly sounds like the company wants us to believe like the whole thing was a set-up.
"Booker did this to give a little extra heat to Graves–who plays a heel on television–on his way out, as well as give some extra attention to Booker’s show now that he is off Raw.
This sounds perfectly believable, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's the whole truth! There are several instances of Booker shoot reacting to Graves' digs in the buildup to him leaving the RAW announcing table, after all.
What do you guys think? Sound off in the usual place.
