WWE made history last night during Night 1 of WrestleMania, as the show was main evented by two Black women, Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair, for the first time ever. This also meant that the event was bookended by Black Superstars raising major titles over the heads, with Bobby Lashley retaining his WWE championship over Drew McIntyre in the opening match.

The Scottish Warrior was the clear favorite to regain the title here, as it was generally assumed that Vince McMahon wanted to give him his big 'Mania moment in front of a live crowd after he defeated Brock Lesnar in an empty arena last year. However, Lashley was able to put on the Hurt Lock and force his opponent to pass out, retaining his title.

Then, in the main event, Bianca Belair defeated Sasha Banks to become the new SmackDown Women's Champion after a terrific back-and-forth bout. The EST of WWE was visibly emotional before the match got underway, fully aware of the history-making moment both she and The Boss were about to be a part of.

Massive congratulations to Lashley and Belair. Let's hope they hold those titles for a while.
