2K has released the first gameplay trailer for WWE 2K24 featuring our best look yet at what's to come in an instalment of the long-running series which definitely doesn't look like simple filler.

A lot of big updates are heading our way this March and the visuals have received a polish which arguably help make this the most realistic-looking WWE game to date.

WWE 2K24 features several franchise advancements, including 2K Showcase...of the Immortals celebrating 40 years of WrestleMania, four new match types such as Ambulance and Special Guest Referee, two new MyRISE experiences, and much more.

Those new matches are highlighted in this trailer and look to be a lot of fun for fans who have spent years waiting to play them again.

"Fresh off the highest-rated game in franchise history, the WWE 2K development team continues to build on that quality," said Greg Thomas, President at Visual Concepts, last month. "WWE 2K24 offers more match types, new MyRISE storylines and characters, improvements to gameplay throughout, a 2K Showcase 40 years in the making, and so much more."

"I’m very proud of the work the team has done to bring this experience to life, and I look forward to seeing players enjoy the game."

You can take a closer look at this WWE 2K24 gameplay reveal in the players below.

As he burns a path through WWE in an effort to claim world championship gold and fulfil his destiny, "The American Nightmare: Cody Rhodes will be featured on WWE 2K24's Standard Edition cover. Multi-time champions and Women's Royal Rumble winners Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley share the Deluxe Edition cover, marking the first time in history two women have graced a dedicated WWE 2K cover.

The Forty Years of WrestleMania Edition cover, meanwhile, features original artwork celebrating the most iconic Superstars and Legends in WrestleMania history, including The Rock, The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, "Stone Cold: Steve Austin, and more.

And no, your eyes don't deceive you; Brock Lesnar has indeed vanished from the cover following the Vince McMahon lawsuit which saw him linked to the disgraced WWE Executive Chairman's latest round of sexual abuse allegations.

While Lesnar wasn't named in the suit, several outlets have since named "The Beast" as being the former UFC Champion the woman, Janel Grant, claims was offered sex with her in exchange for signing a new WWE contract. Lesnar has not responded to the allegations but has been removed from WWE's creative plans and may no longer feature in this game at all.

WWE 2K24 will be available to buy on all major platforms starting March 5.

I wonder if Vince will be removed as well, he must be in the game somewhere.

There is a Wrestlemania mode, so I can there will be a few cuts.
