Last night's episode of SmackDown kicked off with a 10-bell salute that paid tribute to both Bray Wyatt and WWE Hall of Famer Terry Funk following their respective deaths earlier this week.
An emotional video package followed which looked back at Wyatt's extraordinary career, and when we came back from that, several WWE Superstars on stage were visibly upset. Among them were Wyatt Family members Braun Strowman and former WWE Superstar Erick Rowan.
Later in the show, LA Knight heaped praise on Wyatt in an emotional promo; as you'll recall, he was Bray's final opponent and squared off with the Eater of Worlds at this year's Royal Rumble PLE. He then scored a win over Finn Balor to end the show on a high.
As SmackDown went off the air, a photo of Bray was displayed on the Titan Tron as his iconic lantern sat in the ring. Overall, it was a fitting way to pay homage to a Superstar who made a huge impact no matter what he did.
Wyatt passed away on Thursday, with subsequent reports stating that he suffered a heart attack after an ongoing health condition was worsened by COVID. It's believed the former WWE Champion was finally preparing to make his WWE return, hence why this news has come as such a shock.
