RAW ratings have been on the decline for a while now and during last night's episode, WWE continued trying to combat that. While the disappointing 24/7 Championship announcement drew boos from fans hoping to see the return of the Hardcore title, Mick Foley also promised that the show's third hour will be getting "downright mean and nasty" from now on.

As he teased this "dirty" third hour, the bright red and white RAW logo was switched out for a red and black version, while the house lights were dimmed (similar to what we see at NXT events) and LED lights on the ringposts were switched off.

Way back in 2012, the third hour of RAW was the highest rated hour for several weeks but it's been on the decline ever since. WWE is clearly hoping that this tease will convince viewers to stick around, especially if they think they'll see a more mature product. Unfortunately, the final hour of last night's RAW felt like more of the same.

Do you think this strategy will work?
