We're officially on the Road to WrestleMania and WWE has announced that last night's Royal Rumble PPV - which took place at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas - managed to draw a sold out crowd of 42,175 fans.

The company is known to inflate attendance numbers but this figure does beat the 42,095 fans who went to see singer Taylo Swift perform in the stadium back in 2011.

It was a great show overall and WWE definitely appears to have made the Royal Rumble a permanent fixture in stadiums rather than arenas. While there weren't any title changes during the PPV, Charlotte Flair and Drew McIntyre's big wins have got fans talking and have set the stage for an exciting WrestleMania
