WWE returned to Puerto Rico for the first time in 18 years this week, and Backlash most definitely didn't disappoint.
The PLE kicked off with Bianca Belair defending the RAW Women's Championship against Damage CTRL's Iyo Sky. As the bout continued, fans turned on the EST with chants of "Let's Go Iyo," seemingly making it clear they've grown weary of Belair's lengthy undefeated streak. However, she still managed to pick up yet another win with the KOD.
Little to no explanation was provided for Seth Rollins vs. Omos being added to the card, but the current fan favourite to win the new World Heavyweight Championship overcame the odds with a Super Stomp that secured him the 1-2-3.
Austin Theory managed to steal a win over Bobby Lashley and Bronson Reed, meaning he takes his United States Championship to SmackDown. And, despite the crowd being on an emotional Zelena Vega's side, she was defeated by SmackDown Women's Champion Rhea Ripley with relative ease.
In WWE's first-ever San Juan Street Fight, Damian Priest battled rapper Bad Bunny in an entertaining contest which featured heaps of interference... including from Carlito! He helped clear the ring of the Judgement Day alongside the LWO and a Canadian Destroyer from Bad Bunny meant he walked away with the win.
The Usos and Solo Sikoa squared off with Matt Riddle, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, though there's clearly still a lot of tension within the Bloodline. Solo almost hit Jey with the Samoan Spike, but later took out Riddle to win the match and no doubt earn the Tribal Chief's approval.
In Backlash's main event, Cody Rhodes did battle with Brock Lesnar and busted the Beast open. You'll no doubt recall that the American Nightmare bled a lot in AEW, and he even wiped Lesnar's blood on his chest at one point in a definitely not PG match that started with a brawl outside the ring and never let up.
Lesnar had Rhodes locked in the Kimura, but he rolled his opponent into a pin to steal the win. Where this rivalry goes from here obviously remains to be seen!
