Despite reports that WWE has scrapped the Backlash PPV, it's now said that it will take place in late June. It was originally scheduled for June 16th in San Diego but the close proximity of that to the Saudi Arabia show led to the company deciding to change thing because of the pitfalls that come with having two big shows back to back.

According to Dave Meltzer, Backlash is now scheduled to take place on June 23rd in Tacoma, Washington.

The date originally scheduled for the PPV will now be a regular live event featuring Superstars from the RAW brand. While the next Saudi Arabia show has still not been confirmed, WWE is still moving ahead as if it's happening and we should hear more on that soon.

Either way, expect some, ahem, "backlash" regarding WWE's decision to return to the controversial country.
