WWE BACKSTAGE Premiered On Fox Sports 1 To A Shockingly Low Number Of Viewers

There's some bad news for WWE today as the premiere episode of WWE Backstage on Fox Sports 1 ended up drawing less than 10% of the viewers who tuned into the preview episode a few weeks back. Check it out!

The viewership numbers are in for the official premiere episode of WWE Backstage on Fox Sports 1 and the numbers are beyond bad. The show only managed to draw 49,000 viewers despite Shawn Michael making an appearance and a special episode of the Firefly Fun House.

The first episode aired at 11pm on Tuesday night and this drop is even more significant than anyone could have expected.

The preview show drew 597,000 viewers and the second premiere - which aired after last week's Smackdown - drew 426,000. Whether Tuesday is just a bad night or fans aren't interested is hard to say but WWE Backstage will almost certainly be cancelled if things don't improve over the coming weeks because these numbers simply aren't sustainable.

Time will tell whether things change but WWE and FOX might be beginning to wish that they'd hired CM Punk after all!
