WWE has been cancelling live events a lot in recent weeks and that trend continues this weekend with Saturday's
SmackDown Live show in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Sunday's show at Davis S. Palmer Arena in Danville, IL. Monday’s event in Kalamazoo, Michigan, has also been scrapped.
The members of the blue brand will, of course, return to work on Tuesday night for
SmackDown Live and it's said that these cancellations are a result of "a scheduling conflict." However, WWE has been struggling to sell tickets to non-televised events for a while now so this could be down to the buildings being mostly empty, something which would result in more bad publicity!
Here's the announcement for Sunday's cancellation (the same press release was sent out for the others too):
Canceled – WWE Live SummerSlam Heatwave Tour
STAMFORD, Conn., July 31, 2019 – The WWE (NYSE: WWE) SmackDown live event scheduled for Sunday, August 4TH at Davis S. Palmer Arena in Danville, IL has been cancelled due to a scheduling conflict.
All fans who purchased tickets for the Danville, IL live event should go to their point of purchase for refunds.
