At Money in the Bank on Sunday, Bobby Lashley dominated Kofi Kingston and retained the WWE Championship. The next night on RAW, the All Mighty did the same to Keith Lee in a slightly more competitive bout, but was later confronted by WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg making his WWE return.
He declared "I'm Next!" laying down a challenge for SummerSlam. Lashley left the ring without saying anything at the behest of his manager MVP, but has now issued a response by social media.
"You don’t belong in the same world as me, let alone the same ring. Get that close again, [MVP] won’t be able to hold me back," he says in the Tweet below. "No thanks, old man." Clearly, this is meant to lay the groundwork for the match, and we're guessing Goldberg will probably lay Lashely out at some point in the next few weeks in order to show the WWE Champion he still has it.
The match is certainly going to be an interesting one seeing as Goldberg hasn't exactly been at his best during his last few matches, but if it's setting the stage for Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar, consider us on board.
