WWE Champion Kofi Kingston Is Reportedly Dealing With An Injury

With Extreme Rules just days away, it sounds like WWE Champion Kofi Kingston's match against Samoa Joe could be in trouble because it sounds like The New Day member may have suffered some sort of injury...

Despite being scheduled to wrestle at a non-televised live event last night, it was announced early in the show that WWE Champion Kofi Kingston would not be appearing due to an injury. Fellow New Day members Big E and Xavier Woods defeated The B-Team in the opening bout.

There's no word on whether this injury is legitimate but it seems likely, especially after nothing happened on RAW last week which would explain why WWE would choose to write him out of this event.

Kingston is scheduled to appear on tonight's episode of SmackDown Live to continue his feud with Samoa Joe ahead of their planned match at Extreme Rules this Sunday. It will be interesting seeing whether that happens and if the WWE Champion is in action at all. With any luck, he'll be healed up by the weekend!

Are you excited to see Kingston clash with Joe at the PPV?
