Since winning the WWE championship at WrestleMania 35, many fans have speculated that Big E could eventually turn on Kofi Kingston for the top prize on the blue brand. Due to Big E’s injury, that obviously won’t be happening anytime soon; however, the WWE champion did catch wind of the rumors and responded to the possibility on TMZ (transcript courtesy of wrestletalk):

“I don’t know understand that man. I don’t understand why people say that. We’ve said it since the beginning of time — the philosophy of the New Day has always been to lift your brother up so that is the goal.”

Great factions of the past have always imploded, but Kofi is hoping to break that mold, saying that the New Day doesn’t have to go down the same path:

“I think the stereotypical path to take — you see all these factions and when somebody has success, one of them goes off and does something on their own or someone wants success, one of them goes and does something on their own. That’s very typical”.

Check out the full interview below where Kofi also speaks on why the New Day is a such a unique faction.
