WWE Championship Number #1 Contender Match Set For Next Week's Episode Of SMACKDOWN LIVE

We all assumed John Cena would be the next Superstar to face Jinder Mahal for his WWE Championship at SummerSlam, and it looks like that will indeed be the case - however, he'll have to get past Nakamura first.

Yes, it looks like John Cena is headed for that 17th world title run.

Tonight on Smackdown Live, Cena confronted Jinder Mahal in the ring and declared himself the next contender for his WWE Championship. Unfortunately for "The Franchise Player", Daniel Bryan felt he still needs to earn that spot, and put him in a match against Shinsuke Nakamura on next week's show to determine who will go on to face The Modern day Maharajah for the strap at SummerSlam.

Look, there's always a slim chance WWE decides to surprise us and have Nak go over, but deep down we all know that's not gonna happen and Super-Cena will most likely get his hands on the title at the PPV next month.

What do you guys think? Any way we actually see Nakamura VS. Mahal at SummerSlam?
