So apparently, WWE isn’t interested in Enzo & Cass after all.

Yesterday, it was rumored by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the company made contact with the former WWE stars about a possible return to NXT. However, when the news spread like wildfire throughout the media, Meltzer contacted his sources and it appears that the company doesn’t have interest in the former Enzo and Big Cass:

Both men didn’t leave the company on the best terms and the duo really haven’t done much since leaving the big promotion. Big Cass – now CaXL – is in the best shape of his life and doing independent shows while his buddy nZo briefly went into the rap game before coming back into wrestling.

Of course, this could be WWE’s way of throwing off the media to keep the duo a surprise for when they do return to the company; however, its not a shocker that WWE has no interest in either man at this time. Though, both Cass and Enzo have expressed some desire to return to the promotion.

The former Cruiserweight Champion did an interview with wrestlinginc.com, and he revealed that while he would love to go back to the WWE, it’s simply not in the cards for him at the moment:

"I could never see myself working a schedule like that anytime soon. I mean, you just never say never with anything, so, I just know that absence makes the heart grow fonder. All is forgiven in time. I find that - and that goes on both sides of the coin because I worked for the company where at one point, I got fired and was upset... In that moment, I'm so angered," Enzo remembered. "But then you look at it and you understand the significance of the timing of the situation and you have time to let that burn off.

"Man, I don't hold any grudges. Do I want to go back there? Absolutely, not right now. I am enjoying so much of what I am doing so quickly, of being in these locker rooms and meeting these guys, that I can't imagine going back to a world where I'm on the road 300 days, over 250-280 matches a year."
