Rumors swirled that Edge had suffered a fairly serious injury during the "Greatest Wrestling Match Ever" last night at Backlash, and WWE has now confirmed the bad news.

The Rated-R Superstar tore his triceps at some point during the grueling bout with Randy Orton. Exactly when it happened is difficult to pinpoint (it could have been any number of hard-hitting spots), but Edge still managed top finish the match and only stayed down after a devastating punt kick from The Viper.

WWE's report mentions that Edge has already undergone successful surgery and is currently rehabbing at home. How long he'll be out of action remains to be seen, but the usual recovery/rehab time for this type of injury is between 4 and 6 months.

Be sure to tune into Raw tonight for updates. Randy Orton is expected to open the show, and is sure to address his long-time rival's absence.
