Drew McIntyre is one of the top Superstars on RAW, but now he can no longer challenge Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship, fans are wondering what comes next for him.
Well, it appears one idea floating around in WWE right now is for him to make the jump to SmackDown when the Draft takes place in August. This makes sense for a number of reasons, especially if he wins the Money in the Bank ladder match (he wouldn't be allowed to cash in on Lashley, but could target Reigns' Universal Championship which would make for an entertaining storyline).
"Bobby Lashley retained the WWE title in the Hell in a Cell match main event over Drew McIntyre," Meltzer explains. "The stipulation was that if McIntyre lost, he could never challenge for the title as long as Lashley is champion. This could easily build to a brand switch, which also gives Roman Reigns a fresh new opponent since he obviously needs one."
This wouldn't exactly be a fresh rivalry (they last squared off during Survivor Series in 2020), but it could be fun to see McIntyre come gunning for revenge given what's happened in the past.
We'll have to wait and see, especially as WWE clearly hasn't made any firm Draft decisions yet.
