Night of Champions kicked off with Seth Rollins and AJ Styles battling it out for the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Unlike Roman Reigns' Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, the plan is for this belt to be defended on a regular basis and, while it does feel like something of a consolation prize, the title is still one with a huge amount of history. Rollins was the firm fan-favourite heading into this match, but did the bout end with fans singing his song?

It did indeed.

After an awesome back-and-forth contest, Rollins won after a Pedigree and Stomp which saw him earn the 1-2-3 and become the new World Heavyweight Championship.

Triple H was on hand to present Rollins with the title in what was a great moment which brought back memories of when The Game presented his longtime protégé with the first-ever NXT Championship way back in 2012.

Who will be Rollins' first challenger? That's a question likely to be answered during Monday night's episode of RAW, but for now, we're excited to see what he can do to make this belt feel every bit as important as the one held by the Head of the Table.

Check out some highlights from Night of Champions below.
