After releasing ten Superstars from the main roster yesterday, it appears WWE is now planning to make some cuts from the NXT roster as well. That's not a surprise, especially when there are a lot of wrestlers in the WWE Performance Center who...well, probably don't need to be there.
That won't make these firings hurt any less, though, especially when these Superstars are hopeful up-and-comers. The news comes our way from the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter in which Dave Meltzer says that more cuts are likely coming today (this time with a focus on NXT).
We'll obviously keep you updated on that front.
In other news, it's also been reported that those released yesterday will be free agents on Wednesday, July 14th. That's a pretty terrific bit of timing for that week's All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite, eh?
Former WWE Superstar Peyton Royce has also issued a statement, saying "I cannot thank my wonderful fans enough. You all fuel my passion & my soul. I’ll never be able to thank you enough for your love through the years. I wouldn’t have had these opportunities without you!"
She later added that "This chapter of my life has finished but I know in my heart I’m not done just yet. This really is just the beginning & I’m excited to get to work on the future."
