The latest edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown for April 3, 2020 took place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:
— The Usos jumped the gun on MizTV and came out before The Miz and John Morrison. Jimmy and Jey talked about how they're going to win the SmackDown tag titles at WrestleMania. Then, The New Day interrupted to say that THEY would be winning the belts. Finally, The Miz and John Morrison came out to talk about how they're going to keep the titles, and after everyone started to fight, it was the champions standing tall.
— Tamina defeated both Naomi and Lacey Evans in a Triple Threat match. After the match, Bayley tried to befriend Tamina, who superkicked her. Then, Sasha Banks gave it a shot, reminding Tamina of their time together in Team B.A.D., but took a Samoan Drop for her efforts. No friends here.
— A replay of Shawn Michaels defeating Ric Flair from WrestleMania XXIV aired.
— WWE teased that Elias may not be able to compete at WrestleMania, but didn't make any announcements. The match is still set to go down. Then, very quickly, they put up a graphic about Braun Strowman replacing Roman Reigns and simply said that Goldberg would fight Strowman for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania, with no explanation to that at all.
— Tucker defeated Dolph Ziggler by disqualification after Ziggler ignored the referee and used the steel steps. After the match, the circle of blue lights glitched onto the screen. A hooded man in front of some screens appeared, said that the truth would be heard, and showed footage of Sonya Deville sending the "I'll be late" text to Otis from Mandy Rose's phone. She then deleted the message and spoke to Dolph about how they'll both get what they want (despite how Mandy had said that Otis was cute in a different way). Otis ran after Ziggler, who ran off, and Sonya kept trying to apologize to Mandy, who stormed off, furious.
— Daniel Bryan defeated Shinsuke Nakamura by disqualification due to interference from Cesaro. Nakamura, Cesaro and Sami Zayn laid out both Bryan and Drew Gulak.
— John Cena cut a promo on how WrestleMania is completely unknown this year. He doesn't even know what a Firefly Fun House match is. But he knows The Fiend loves uncertainty, as that leads to fear, which leads to panic, and panic leads to collapse. He's not afraid. He's going to expose The Fiend as an embarrassment. Wyatt asked for this match on his terms, and he'll still get his ass kicked. Cena accepts the challenge. The puppets then appeared for some intimidation to end the night.
