Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:
— Big E vs John Morrison was set to kickoff the show, but RETRIBUTION attacked at the start of the match. After the commercial break, some members of the roster rallied together backstage. The Miz and Morrison blamed the situation on Big E. King Corbin tried to call himself the leader they all need. Big E offered himself as a better option. Sheamus said Big E is vulnerable and scared without Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. The Celtic Warrior isn't afraid of RETRIBUTION.
— SmackDown Women's Championship No. 1 Contender's Triple-Brand Battle Royal Match: Asuka won by last eliminating Shayna Baszler, meaning The Empress of Tomorrow will face both Sasha Banks and Bayley for both their titles at SummerSlam.
— In a promo about how she's more than a pretty face, Mandy Rose challenged Sonya Deville to a Hair vs Hair Match for SummerSlam. Sonya accepted the challenge later.
— Sheamus defeated Shorty G by pinfall.
— AJ Styles showed off his new means of determining who gets title opportunities, called The Phenomenal Intercontinental Statistics System, alongside his aid, Joseph Park. But according to AJ's metrics, nobody deserves a title shot. Jeff Hardy then came out to talk about how he was screwed out of potentially winning the title during the tournament. Styles said no and that this isn't a pity party and Hardy needs to earn it. Hardy knocked AJ out of the ring and signed his name onto the board.
— Gran Metalik defeated Shinsuke Nakamura by pinfall due in part to a distraction from the returning third member of Lucha House Party, Kalisto.
— Shorty G apologized to Matt Riddle for attacking him. Riddle accepted the apology, but King Corbin then blasted Riddle from behind and thanked Shorty G for his help.
— Alexa Bliss had a sit-down interview about her friendship and even potential romantic relationship with Braun Strowman, as well as how hypnotic The Fiend is.
— Big E defeated John Morrison by submission. Retribution attacked the backstage area during the match.
— Alexa Bliss confronted Braun Strowman in the ring about how he said he doesn't give a damn about her. Strowman said he wouldn't be a clown anymore that she could pull around by his beard, and that everyone changes once they interact with The Fiend, including her. Strowman press slammed Bliss and switched places with Bray Wyatt in the ring when that happened.
