The latest edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown for August 7, 2020 took place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:
— The show started with Firefly Fun House. Bray Wyatt delivered another ominous warning to Braun Strowman about The Fiend wanting a Universal Championship match.
— Matt Riddle defeated Sheamus by disqualification when Shorty G interfered and attacked Riddle. The Celtic Warrior nailed Shorty G with a Brogue Kick after the match for costing him the win.
— The Dirt Sheet featured Mandy Rose's hair (a wig with googly eyes) and The Miz and John Morrison cracking jokes about last week's attack from Sonya Deville. Deville joined them to talk about how she enjoyed ruining her makeup and cutting her hair and other shots against her. Heavy Machinery eventually came out to attack Miz and Morrison.
— Cesaro (with Shinsuke Nakamura) defeated Lince Dorado (with Gran Metalik) by pinfall
— Braun Strowman said he doesn't give a damn about Alexa Bliss. All he cares about is destroying Bray Wyatt. He knew he'd come out of the swamp the most evil son of a bitch this earth has ever laid eyes on. He's more than a man. He's the thing nightmares are made of.
— Jeff Hardy defeated King Corbin by disqualification when Sheamus attacked Hardy as payback for what happened earlier. This led to a match between Corbin and Sheamus, which Sheamus won by pinfall.
— Stephanie McMahon talked to Sasha Banks and Bayley. Next week, there will be a triple brand battle royal with the winner facing Bayley for the SmackDown Women's Championship at SummerSlam.
— The Miz and John Morrison vs. Heavy Machinery (Otis and Tucker) went to a no-contest after Mandy Rose attacked Sonya Deville.
— The show ended with the lights going out and the Retribution stable charging the ring with weapons and attacking people ringside.
