The latest edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown for January 8, 2020 took place at the Ford Center Evansville in Evansville, IN.

Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:

— The show started with MizTV. The Miz apologized to Kofi Kingston for attacking him last week and blamed it on a bad day. He brought on John Morrison who said he was disappointed in the WWE Universe for booing The Miz after all he's done. The New Day came out to denounce this apology. The Miz beat Kofi Kingston in a match by pinfall.

— Mandy Rose gave Otis an "I'm sorry" cake to apologize for Ziggler smashing the fruitcake. Mandy then beat Alexa Bliss by pinfall.

— Lacey Evans didn't wrestle Sasha Banks as The Boss was apparently in Los Angeles working on her album, according to Bayley on the TitanTron. Evans went to the back to get Bayley and they had a temporary fight that was broken up by a referee.

— Braun Strowman defeated Shinsuke Nakamura by pinfall.

— King Corbin and Dolph Ziggler defeated The Usos by disqualification
after Roman Reigns speared Corbin. A returning Robert Roode helped Corbin and Ziggler take out The Usos and Reigns after the match.
