The latest edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown for July 31, 2020 took place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

— Intercontinental Championship Match: AJ Styles defeated Gran Metalik by submission to retain the title.
— After King Corbin approached Shorty G backstage with the king's ransom idea of taking out Matt Riddle, Corbin beat Drew Gulak by pinfall. Then, Shorty G aligned himself with Corbin to take out Gulak and Riddle after the match.
— Big E defeated The Miz by submission.
— Naomi defeated Lacey Evans by pinfall.
— Sonya Deville attacked Mandy Rose backstage. She started to cut her hair and was about to shave her head before officials came over and got her to stop. The Miz and John Morrison then made jokes at Mandy's expense.
— SmackDown Women's Championship Match: Bayley defeated Nikki Cross by pinfall to retain the title. Nikki Cross pushed Alexa Bliss down after the match out of frustration, despite how Alexa was just trying to help her out. The lights then went out and The Fiend appeared behind Alexa and gave her the Mandible Claw to end the show.
