The latest edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown for October 2, 2020 took place at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.
Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:
— Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman started the show with a promo. They welcomed Jey Uso out and Roman granted Jey a rematch for the Universal Championship at Hell in a Cell, but said the match would have the highest stakes any match has ever had in WWE and left it at that. AJ Styles came out to start talking some trash, for some reason, which led to a match between he and Uso. Jey Uso defeated AJ Styles by pinfall.
— Mr. Money in the Bank Otis defeated John Morrison by pinfall
— Sheamus defeated Shorty G by pinfall. Next week, Sheamus will face Big E in a Falls Count Anywhere match.
— Kevin Owens hosted The KO Show with his guest, Alexa Bliss. Owens wanted to better understand what's going on with Alexa so he could understand Aleister Black's transformation into a darker character, too. The Fiend attacked Owens and put him down with a Mandible Claw. Bray Wyatt turned his sights onto Bliss, who just stared back at him. He offered her his hand and she took it and smiled to end the segment.
— Matt Riddle, Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik defeated King Corbin, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura by pinfall
— Carmella was confirmed as the mysterious woman from the vignettes. She ran down the WWE Universe and talked about how she's untouchable.
— Sasha Banks cut a promo about how she's going to fight Bayley for the SmackDown Women's Championship next week.
— Sami Zayn defeated Jeff Hardy by pinfall to retain the Intercontinental Championship.
