The latest edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown for September 4, 2020 took place at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.

Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:

— Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman started the show with a promo about how whoever wins the No. 1 contender's match will be a sacrificial lamb at Clash of Champions.

— Heavy Machinery (Otis and Tucker) defeated The Miz and John Morrison by pinfall. After the match, John Morrison ran off with Otis's Money in the Bank briefcase and stole it. Instead of going after him, Otis and Tucker just acted upset in the ring and watched. Later, it was shown that Otis doesn't keep his contract in that briefcase. Instead, Morrison stole a sandwich, a stapler and some q-tips. The contract's in a little lunchbox.

— Big E, Drew Gulak and Lucha House Party have a birthday cake for Xavier Woods. Security goes over to Big E and tells him Woods just arrived, but it was a setup with Sheamus attacking Big E (which ruined the cake, too). Sheamus gave Big E a White noise on a car's windshield.

— Women's Tag Team Championship Match: Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax defeated The Golden Role Models (Bayley and Sasha Banks) by pinfall to retain the titles. Bayley then attacked Sasha Banks after the match and continued to injure Sasha. Banks was then carted off in an ambulance just like Big E.

— Sami Zayn, Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles all argued over the Intercontinental Championship and fought with each other.

— A woman's heels were shown walking with no context of who it is or what this means.

— Bay Wyatt revealed that next week, a "brand new friend" is coming to the Firefly Fun House.

— Alexa Bliss hugs Nikki Cross backstage and asks her to forgive her for what she did last week. In the background, Rambling Rabbit was seen on an equipment trunk.

— Jey Uso defeated Matt Ridle, King Corbin and Sheamus by pinfall to earn a title opportunity for the Universal Championship
