WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg was recent interviewed by the American Monster Productions YouTube channel, and while it was a mostly light-hearted conversation, things took a slightly more serious turn when the subject of Roman Reigns came up.
Now, you might be expecting the former Universal Champion to have torn into Reigns for walking out of their WrestleMania match over COVID-19 concerns, but the WCW legend has a bigger issue than that. Back in January, Reigns poked fun at Goldberg for headbutting a door and giving himself a concussion, and that's stuck with Goldberg based on these comments.
"Roman...you’re a joke, first of all," he started. "Second of all, when he ragged on me about headbutting the doors and stuff, you know. I never really explained my whole thought process on that."
"For you guys to get the character that you got, I had to do certain things. Well, one of them was headbutt the door. Right? And that may, on the outside, look like a stupid move, but as I mentioned, we all weigh the positives and negatives, so it’s very positive to make it as violent as humanly possible, and as real as humanly possible, and all the negative is you lose a little blood and hey, man, you get another concussion and cut a week off your life."
Golberg cutting his head open and concussing himself was, quite frankly ridiculous, and it's a little comical to see him have to defend that here. He didn't elaborate on why he believes Reigns is a joke (it's possible he could be referring to what happened at WrestleMania), but it's always worth remembering that in the world of pro wrestling, the WWE Hall of Famer might just be hoping for a rematch.
What do you guys think?
