WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg made his RAW return a couple of weeks ago and challenged WWE Champion Bobby Lashley to a match at SummerSlam. So far, The All Mighty has refused to accept that, but it's obvious the two will clash at the biggest party of the summer next month.
During a recent interview with CarCast, Goldberg talked about plans for the match and hyped it up as two big monsters stepping into the ring to tell an old school story (he also teased the possibility that Lashley using the Spear, and more recently the Jackhammer, factoring into that).
"This time they gave me eight weeks so Lashley’s gonna be pissed off about that one because I’ll be doubly ready this time," Goldberg said of how much time WWE has given him to prepare. "I’m actually looking forward to it man. I’ve been...we’ve talked in the past and it’s been like drudgery and I’ve been b**ching and moaning all the time and I’m still b**ching and moaning. I got a smile on my face because I know I’m more prepared than I was last time."
"I would say it helps exponentially, no question about that. I’m actually looking forward to it. It’s like putting time in at the track and being able to test actually before you have to go out and race."
Goldberg's last few performances haven't been great, so it's going to be interesting seeing how he fares in this match with Lashley. We're definitely not expecting him to win the title, and if anything, he's just going to be a stepping stone for Lashley on his path to - hopefully - squaring off with Brock Lesnar.
Stay tuned for updates.
