During last week's episode of SmackDown, we learned that WWE Hall of Famer Lita will compete in this year's Women's Royal Rumble match. Well, she made her first appearance on the blue brand in quite some time yesterday evening, revealing that she intends to win the match and main event WrestleMania (going so far as to say she believes she has at least one more run left in her).
SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair interrupted, making it clear she plans to win the match so she can choose her own opponent at the Showcase of the Immortals.
After taking some shots at Lita's old friend, Trish Stratus, The Queen vowed to force Lita to retire as well. With that, Flair was hit with the Twist of Fate as Lita stood tall. PWInsider has reported that Lita was brought to SmackDown at the last minute, so we don't know how big WWE's plans are right now.
However, Fightful claims that Lita was talking to AEW at one point (for a feud with current Women's Champion Dr. Britt Baker), so it appears WWE offered her a big enough deal to ensure she would return to the company where she made a name for herself rather than bringing even more eyes to the competition. Here's hoping this leads to something significant.
