WWE Hall of Famer and former (longest-ever) Divas Champion Nikki Bella has responded to the recent round of WWE releases, and seems to be just as surprised as everyone else by some of the names that received their marching orders.
Bella, who gave birth to a baby boy eight months ago and is currently planning her wedding to Artem Chigvintsev, took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message of support for the female Superstars she has the opportunity to work with when she was still an active wrestler, including Ruby Riott, Mickie James, The IIconics, Lana and Chelsea Green.
“I have been shocked to say the least about some of the releases lately at WWE," Nikki said in her post. "Wanted to write a thank you post to the women that have given their everything to the wrestling industry. Mind, body, soul and time. I was so honored to share the ring with some of you and the ones I hadn’t I was so looking forward to one day sharing it."
Bella is not the only prominent WWE-affiliated figure to express her shock at these high-profile cuts, and there seems to be growing concern that more are likely to follow.
