Last month, WrestlingNews.co reported that there were plans in place for WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair to be written off television after his recent return as Randy Orton's manager. Originally, the angle was supposed to take place when The Viper faced The Big Show, but that was delayed when Flair had to stay at home after his wife tested positive for COVID-19.
Now, though, Dave Meltzer has revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that it could take place during tonight's episode of RAW.
"It’s already taped so Ric Flair is there and the Ric Flair angle I guess is probably already taped unless they canned it," Meltzer explains. "At the last word, when they were doing the taping that afternoon, the Ric Flair angle was definitely still on the show. The only two things that were there [in the script] were Shane McMahon’s thing and the Ric Flair-Randy Orton angle and then they threw that show together at the end."
There's no reason we won't get to see this take place tonight, and it's thought Flair is being taken off television to ensure that the focus remains on Orton and McIntyre heading into their SummerSlam bout. Also booked for tonight's show is Orton vs. Kevin Owens, Asuka vs. Bayley, a Triple Brand Battle Royal, and more of Shane McMahon's RAW Underground.
Are you guys looking forward to tonight's show?
