In 2019, Ric Flair clashed with WWE over the trademark for "The Man." The company wanted to use that for Becky Lynch, but as the Nature Boy frequently used that moniker, he hoped to keep it for himself. Ultimately, things were resolved behind the scenes and WWE gained the rights to "The Man" the following year.

There had been rumblings that many people backstage were unhappy with Flair, including Roman Reigns. Now, the WWE Hall of Famer has opened up on being worried he had lost The Big Dog's respect.

As a result, Flair pulled Reigns to one side and cleared the air with the Universal Champion.

"I was concerned that I had lost the respect of Roman Reigns," Flair admitted in a conversation with Conrad Thompson. "When that whole ‘The Man’ thing went upside down, I had to file the trademark and whatever transpired, it means nothing now. I walked right up to him and said ‘Hey, it means a lot to me.’ You want the kids to look forward to you coming, not here he comes again."

"Especially when you have a daughter that is at the most elite position she can be in," he continued. "You don’t hear Bob Orton at home, and Bob was a huge star, complaining about anybody. Let bygones be bygones and let it go."

It sounds like they settled things, and Flair definitely made the right decision by allowed Lynch to follow in his footsteps (being dubbed "The Man" proved to be pivotal for her career).

Who do you think most deserves that title in WWE?
