WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair isn't on WWE television at the moment, and the plan was for him to be written off RAW during the match between Randy Orton and The Big Show a few weeks back. That didn't happen because the Nature Boy had a COVID-19 scare when his wife tested positive for the virus.
Flair has said that he never had COVID-19, but WWE is clearly being careful, and just having the WWE Hall of Famer at shows is obviously a risk for the 71-year-old legend.
Now, during an interview with TV Insider, Flair has confirmed that he's reached out to the company about some sort of return. "I certainly would love the opportunity, but I think it would have to be one of those scenarios. I’m trying to get me to manage Randy against [Drew] McIntyre [at SummerSlam]. I don’t know. I haven’t heard back, but it’s not because I’m not trying."
It's very odd that WWE has basically ignored Flair, especially as he was such a big part of storylines a few weeks back. It's been said that SummerSlam could end up taking place in an outside venue with fans, so chances are Flair could be asked to return in that case.
