WWE has greatly improved under Triple H's watch, but both RAW and SmackDown still suffer from some odd creative decisions.
Last month, Becky Lynch teamed up with Trish Stratus to defend the Women's Tag Team Championships against Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan. Lita had been attacked backstage, prompting Stratus to take her place in the title bout.
What followed was a relatively sloppy match that saw Stratus cost her and Lynch the titles when she was rolled up by Morgan for the 1-2-3.
Moments later, Stratus turned heel when she attacked "The Man" and laid her out with the Chick Kick. We've been hearing rumblings about a feud between these two for months, with original plans calling for them to square off at SummerSlam. That's not until of August, of course, and it seems WWE has decided to speed things up a little.
During last night's RAW, Stratus came to the ring wearing a t-shirt featuring a missing poster of Lynch. After mocking her absence from television, the WWE Hall of Famer shared some choice comments about The Man's young daughter.
Having previously trolled fans moments before by playing Lynch's music, Stratus wasn't happy when it started playing a second time, only now, the Irish Superstar made her shock return, clocking the Attitude Era icon with a right hand. She followed that with an uppercut and Bexploder, sending the heel packing.
Lynch then grabbed a mic and made it clear she's back and ready and willing if Stratus wants a piece, with the stage presumably set for the two women to go to war at Night of Champions.
