Trish Stratus recently made her WWE return to challenge Charlotte Flair to a match at
SummerSlam. Recently, the WWE Hall of Famer said it will be her final time inside the ring and in a recent interview with The Toronto Sun, Stratus opened up about what led to her choosing now as the time to come back for One. More. Match.
"You can never create this scenario again," she explained. "It’s serendipitous. If it’s the final moment, I would be proud of the Stratusfaction delivered."
"As you get older, you decide this is it," Stratus continued. "I don’t need to keep coming back. I’ve had my ride. But this scenario was so special. To face a superstar like Charlotte Flair at this point of my life. In Toronto. At the second biggest pay-per-view of the year (WrestleMania is first). What could be more right? To face the greatest of her generation — and it’s been argued that I was the greatest of my generation — it’s a pretty unique matchup."
"Everything is aligning for this and with my age — how much longer can I do this or want to do this? This is the perfect time to do it," she concluded.
It will certainly be interesting seeing how this match plays out, especially as it takes place in Stratus' home country. Flair walking out with the win makes most sense but WWE could surprise us. We'll be sure to let you know how things play out this Sunday!
