It's no secret that WWE is looking to launch a Japanese version of NXT and now more details have been revealed about that. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter previously reported that they tried to purchase a number of promotions, including Pro Wrestling NOAH. However, it's now said that they've also talked to Dragon Gate about a possible acquisition.

There's no word on how things went but WWE recently allowed former Dragon Gate wrestlers Akira Tozawa and Apollo Crews to record messages congratulating the promotion on its 20th anniversary.

With rumours also swirling about WWE also approaching New Japan Pro Wrestling, it's clear WWE is looking to make a hume impact in the country. Meiko Satomura has been hired as a coach and Daisuke Sekimoto is aslo rumoured to be taking on the same role.

There's been no official NXT Japan announcement but things could start coming together soon.
