A few days ago, we learned that WWE had tried to bring WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle back as Matt Riddle's manager, while Drave Maverick ended up earning an NXT contract during last night's episode. There have also been rumblings about Sarah Logan potentially returning, but a new report claims that WWE has started reaching out to a number of other Superstars as well.
On the latest Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez explained that several wrestlers have been offered deal to return, but for less money than what they were making before being released.
"There have been people who have been released from WWE and they have been offered deals to come back and the offers for them to return are a fraction of what they were making," he explains. It seems WWE is panicking about talent heading to other companies, but it seems somewhat exploitative to release Superstars and then hire them back at a time the Indie scene is dead for less money.
Nothing really surprises us with WWE now, though!
"The offers that I’ve seen, we may be seeing a fair number of people showing up at Impact," Alvarez noted. "I don’t know that but I just know that based on what I’ve seen – some renewal offers – there are definitely people that would definitely go to Impact Wrestling."
We'll keep you guys updated.
