Just before SmackDown went off the air last night, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn subjected Shane McMahon to one of the more brutal beat-downs we've seen in WWE in quite some time.

Though the Commissioner had announced that his two assailants would face each other at WrestleMania just before this happened, it now seems more likely that Shane will be involved in their 'Mania match in some capacity.

Just to hammer home the severity of Shane's injuries, WWE has released an update on his condition.

“He sustained a laryngeal contusion when the steel chair was wrapped around his head and thrown into the turnbuckle,” WWE medical staff said. KO & Zayn continued the onslaught by dragging McMahon to the back and powerbombing him onto a metal rack, resulting in further injuries. “He was then thrown onto the metal rack, which resulted in trapezius and rhomboid strains,” medical staff continued.

We're all hoping to see Daniel Bryan return to in-ring action and be McMahon's partner at 'Mania, but that's probably wishful thinking. There's also speculation that KO, Zayn and Shane O Mac will take part in a triple-threat match.

How do you guys think things will play out?
