As expected, there was no sign of Sasha Banks and Naomi during last night's episode of SmackDown, but the situation was addressed. Michael Cole said that the two women had "let us all down" when they walked out of RAW (the irony, of course, is that WWE regularly advertises main events and fails to deliver them). He'd go on to say that Banks and Naomi had disappointed fans and Superstars.
The veteran announcer would then confirm that they have been suspended indefinitely and stripped of the Women's Tag Team Championships. As a result, WWE will now hold a tournament to crown new champions, and we're assuming the company has frozen both of their contracts.
Of course, with reports swirling that they only have months left on those, anyway, WWE could let them run their course and then impose that standard 90-day non-compete. With that in mind, neither Banks nor Naomi will be able to capitalise on the buzz surrounding this walkout and we probably won't see them in another company - AEW seems like a safe bet - until early next year.
We can't help but think we won't see them in a WWE ring again, though, because the sports entertainment giant has gone so far as to remove all their merchandise from their official store in the past few hours. Now, when you search for them on WWE Shop, you'll find that absolutely nothing comes up.
Banks and Naomi have yet to comment, but keep checking back here for the latest updates!
