According to PW Insider, WWE officials are already planning their return to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia following last Thursday's
Super ShowDown. There's no word on when the event will take place, but the site reports that they are looking to head back to the country in late October or early November.
Apparently, a return date of Thursday, August 20th was suggested at one point, but that was nixed because of how close it is to
SummerSlam weekend. Any travel issues would cause major problems for the PPV, while the likelihood that temperatures would be in the 100-120 degree range in Saudi Arabia would obviously be problematic for Superstars.
Crown Jewel took place last October, so it's possible that name - and a similar date - is also used for this year's version.
WWE has a ten year partnership with the Saudi General Sports Authority, and while it remains as controversial as ever, it has been a financial success for the company and its shareholders. With that in mind, expect these shows to continue for the foreseeable.
