It's being reported today that FOX executives are pushing for WWE to bring back live crowds for SmackDown. It seems the success of WrestleMania has made them realise now is the time, and it's said the network is pushing for updates on a timeframe for when touring could begin again.
That's easier said than done right now, because even though America is opening up, there are still different rules from state to state. For FOX, they just want SmackDown - a show they spent a lot of money on - to be on an even playing field with sports leagues like the MLB and NBA.
There's recently been talk that WWE will finally hit the road in mid-July with fans set to be in attendance for a weekend of events. Should that happened, the July 16 edition of SmackDown would be in front of fans. On Sunday, July 18, Money in the Bank will be held, with a RAW on the Monday.
All of those, and a live event, would have a crowd in attendance, so that would be a big test for WWE to see how feasible it is to return to a schedule similar to what they've had in the past.
We'll keep you updated as more is revealed.
