Charlotte Flair won Sunday's women's Royal Rumble match and it's since been reported that the plan is for her to challenge Rhea Ripley for the NXT Championship at WrestleMania. That's certainly not the match fans were expecting to see The Queen in at the Show of Shows but it's one that has the potential to be awesome.

Well, according to various outlets, the main reason for this match is to bring back "main roster credibility" to NXT. During the build up to Survivor Series, NXT ratings increased as Superstars from RAW and SmackDown appeared on the show and vice versa. That helped NXT close the gap and ultimately surpass All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite on Wednesday nights in terms of viewership.

WWE is looking to increase ratings again and they believe that bringing in Charlotte Flair will help with that (it's could also be why RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch is expected to face Shayna Baszler at the Show of Shows but rumour has it that she's coming to the main roster).

Needless to say, the Wednesday Night Wars promise to be well worth keeping an eye on over the coming weeks!
