There have been rumours about WWE wanting to launch an NXT brand in Japan for a while now and according to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE has already spoken with several promotions in Japan about a potential deal. 

WWE even tried to buy a Japanese promotion in order to have a foundation for NXT Japan and while we don't know where things are with those right now, one of the companies they set their sights on was Pro Wrestling NOAH. Unfortunately, a deal could not be reached but that doesn't mean they haven't reached out to other companies. 

It's also said that WWE has been trying to hire top Japanese talents to work as both trainers and wrestlers for this newly launched division of NXT and a Performance Center could be built in the country too. An announcement could come our way as soon as this Friday but we'll see. 

Something we can say, however, is that this would be a smart move for WWE, especially as Japanese wrestling is so popular among fans and a big part of a certain rival promotion...
