WWE Is Reportedly Considering Making Shane McMahon The New Lead Writer Of Monday Night RAW

Shane McMahon made his return to WWE earlier this month to host RAW Underground, and it's now being reported that the WWE Chairman's son is being considered as the new head writer of RAW. Check it out...

It's no secret that RAW is in trouble, and with ratings rapidly declining, WWE has gone to some drastic measures in recent months. That's included removing Paul Heyman as RAW Executive Director (despite his attempts to build new stars) and introducing RAW Underground, a Fight Club-style segment featuring "shoot" fights.

Now, it's being reported that a familiar face could soon be put in charge of RAW if Vince McMahon moves forward with his latest scheme.

According to Sportskeeda's Alex McCarthy, McMahon is seriously considering putting his son, Shane McMahon, in charge of RAW as lead writer. While he will obviously still have final say over what we see on television, this would be quite the changing of the guard (Bruce Prichard is currently trying to run both RAW and SmackDown, so this would allow him to focus on the blue brand).

The report notes that Prichard is "making no secret about the fact he’d like to lighten his workload, and he’s been struggling with the long hours." Shane's working relationship with his father has reportedly improved, while RAW Underground is said to have been his idea.

Needless to say, it's going to be very interesting seeing how this pans out over the coming weeks if Vince chooses to go through with it.
